Ajkun Ballet Theatre: RED: The Passion of Tango

Choreographer Leonard Ajkun of Ajkun Ballet Theatre begins and ends his most recent ballet, RED: The Passion of Tango, with the Tango, historically a dance of Love and for Mr. Ajkun, a metaphor for love in all its dimensions: physical, mental, emotional, and experiential.

Using his vision and the language he creates by putting dance to music, Leonard builds on the color red, synonymous with love and with Tango, but also with rage, lust and longing, in order to communicate the enduring power of love despite circumstances, uncertainty and discordance.
