Come to celebrate great music with Brazilian composer, pianist and singer Guilherme Arantes, our special guest Vanessa Collier and special participation of pianist and singer Lydia Salnikova.
GUILHERME ARANTES
Guilherme Arantes is a Brazilian singer, composer, and pianist who has made a significant impact on Brazilian popular music since the 1970s. He was born on July 28, 1953, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and began his musical career at a young age, performing in local bands and composing his own songs.
In 1976, Arantes released his first self-titled album, which included the hit song “Meu Mundo e Nada Mais” (My World and Nothing Else). The song became an instant success and is considered one of the greatest Brazilian songs of all time.
Throughout his career, Guilherme Arantes has released more than 20 albums and has won several awards for his music. He is known for his unique style, which blends elements of pop, rock, baroque, and classical music.
Guilherme Arantes has collaborated with several other Brazilian musicians over the years. He has also written songs for television and film soundtracks.
Guilherme Arantes continues to perform and record music to this day, and his contributions to Brazilian music have earned him a place as one of the country’s most beloved and respected artists.
It will be his first time performing in Albany.

VANESSA COLLIER
Powerhouse multi-instrumentalist Vanessa Collier weaves funk, soul, rock, and blues into every performance. With soulful vocals, searing saxophone, and witty songwriting, the 2013 graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music is blazing a trail and racking up an impressive arsenal of honors, including 3 Blues Music Awards – two for “Horn Player of the Year” in 2019 and 2020 and one in 2022 for “Contemporary Blues Female Artist of the Year”!! She has been nominated for eight Blues Music Awards since 2017, which puts her in elite company with artists such as Beth Hart, Samantha Fish, Shemekia Copeland, Ruthie Foster, Trombone Shorty, Al Basile, and Jimmy Carpenter.

LYDIA SALNIKOVA
Born and raised in Russia, Lydia originally made her stand in the U.S. music scene as a lead vocalist and keyboard player for the Grammy-nominated band Bering Strait, which released 2 albums on Universal South Records. Since leaving Bering Strait, Lydia has released 2 albums and EP as a solo artist, and she continues to write and record music, as well as collaborate with other artists and producers.
